~It only took me half the afternoon to drag tree branches into place, drape them with vintage tablecloths, heft a heavy chair missing one leg from the trash heap (It has such character don't you think? I wish I could save it, but, its seen its day...), and then decorate with all sorts of darling things...
~I think the neighbors probably had a good laugh behind their fence, especially when the lady hobo of the establishment appeared...
~Since I was using old tablecloths to screen me from the sun, it only seemed fitting to wear the dress I sewed from a vintage tablecloth last summer...
~To the dress I added a blue and white striped shirt, tied around the waist...
~And my new fob watch necklace...
~And this wonderful old "Don Anderson" hat I picked up at a thrift store last week! I wish I knew more about dating hats - I'd love to know when this one is from...
~Those who know me are aware that I have a serious commitment to green apples, no other apple compares!
~Gloves are excellent for concealing all the little scrapes and cuts a lady inevitably picks up while building her own tent out of spiky tree branches!
~Hobo Laundry - I love the way this one turned out!
"For what do we live, but to make sport for our neighbors, and laugh at them in our turn?"
-Mr. Bennet, Pride and Prejudice. I know mine were entertained at about this point!
~After all that "Hobo-ing", a lady needs a break!
~Well, it was fun times and some great memories. I spent most of the rest of the afternoon with Joel under the tent, and he loved it! He ate a whole bowl of applesauce and cooed at all the pretty things.
~In other news I've been thinking about the whole "Mod Modesty Monday" thing I've started, and wondering if its really beneficial? I don't want to encourage the wrong things, overly focusing on clothes and appearance for example, and I don't want to come across as vain or frivolous myself! I'll probably do a post asking for your thoughts later in the week. For now I just need to think and reevaluate the purpose of this blog!
~Till next time, have a lovely week!

wow! that is the most elegant and amazing "hobo"ing I've ever seen! Thanks for your post on my blog. I will try to respond to your questions shortly! Regarding the era of your hat, I might have to peek inside for tags and so forth...;)
So much beauty! It couldn't have been better staged in a magazine.
What a lovely, creative and yes, slightly amusing young lady you are!
I will also add to that list a bit courageous as I don't know if I could have done all that with the knowledge that the neighbors had a clear view of my yard!Lol
I will be recommending this blog to my daughter. I am always on the lookout for Christian, feminine blogs for her and myself!
Have a blessed week!
Baroness Von Vintage -

I love that you don't mind looking silly to your neighbors. I'm sure you made them smile. Well, it totally paid off because these photos are awesome. :)
I've never heard of hobo-ing before but that looks fun! I bet a hobo tea party would be fun too...
B from A plus B
Thanks B! It was a lot of fun! I'd love to do a Hobo tea party sometime, and invite the neighbors! They probably wouldn't come, but, I know they'd be peeking over the fence!

Ha ha! What an excellent idea! I love the pictures. =] My sisters and I are always doing similar things-much to the amusement of our neighbors too I'm sure...
I like the idea of hobo-ing. =] In my own opinion, not that mine really matters =], I think it cannot be a bad thing, since it's modest and something that you love to do- even if your neighbors think you've lost it. =]
"Oh Mr. Bennet!"
Thanks for the very entertaining post!
=] Marguerite
Thanks for the sweet thoughts Marguerite! It is rather fun to put the neighbors in a "tizzy"!
